So I took a little part time gig that I enjoyed but yesterday discovered I will never work for another person again, unless Jesus Christ comes down and says he needs me to be a nun, then I am down.
I retired earlier this year from 60 hours crazy stuff each week and thought it would be fun to do the gig. It was fun, love the people I helped. But I will not spend another moment working for someone I do not respect nor trust.
So today I am as free and happy as I have been in a long time. My focus is me, putting my time into me, starting my company, taking care of my family and home. And of course hanging with you all.
I cannot help the stupid shit other people do but I certainly control my reaction to it.
Spending the day with my flowers is much better. I am relieved of the nonsense

I recently quit a toxic job and feel much better being semi retired. Of course I feel the automotive repair business has gone down hill the past 5 yrs. Currently just doing my own thing for now.
Ownership/self employment is great, but lots of responsibility, headaches, constantly 'on'. Sorry it didn't work out for you .....early retirement (or finding a pot of tax free gold) is the way to go. Enjoy the flowers.

Happy you feel relief. Some years ago, I said I would never build for anyone who hasn't built what they are asking me to build. It was a weird thing having people put these expectations on me that they themselves had never cut any teeth doing. I instantly felt relief from that situation.
