This is my contribution to the new virtual symposium's mid-month challenge on 'PDA' - see Mid Month Challenge 16.
Of the three PDAs I'm acquainted with, I like one of them, I love another one but I don't like others doing it, and I dislike the other one.
I like a Public Display of Affection (PDA #1). Admittedly when I was younger I was less keen on such displays especially in front of my parents, but now older with my parents long dead, I like holding hands, locking arms, hugging and kissing the cheeks or lips of my partner in public. And I like seeing others do the same.
I like performing a Public Display of Ardour (PDA #2). If in the mood, I'm happy to be very amorous and even sexual with my partner in public, though I must admit my partner generally was less keen at my amorous and sexual attentions in public. However, I'm far less keen at others making their amorous and sexual intentions public, not least because I probably in no position to do the same.
I don't like a Public Display of Acquisition (PDA #3). I never use a public display of affection as a form of control, and I dislike others who do that especially to me. My view is that a public display of affection, slightly perversely, is for private consumption and not a public act of possession.

PDA or lust, it can be a fine line with me. I can remember a first date when I was in my forties we met in a busy pub and after about two pints we were having a good old grope and snogging session which upset someone as they threw some beer at us. We didn't know who it was or when exactly it happened as we only realised as we were leaving.
The line between affection and lust is a very fine and even a very fuzzy line.
I like #1 and one of the things I like about HWD is he initiates holding hands with me when we’re walking somewhere (although I can’t hold hands for long, seems like it’s hard to keep rhythm with our footsteps haha).
I've got better with PDA as I've gotten older. Though holding hands in very hot weather isn't something I like doing.
PDA 1! in general, Yes! and PDA 2 perhaps in the right places and circumstances as nightclubs, just to mention one.
Public displays of lust in a nightclub is de rigueur!
I’m not a fan of #1. It always struck me as a little fake. But I am thinking that maybe what I don’t like is closer to #3. By your definitions

Personally, live and let live. However, adults must be mindful of minors in the area. And regardless of what I may think, people in romantic mood should should always be careful where and how much they expose themselves mainly due to personal safety and/or public behavior guidance and avoid unnecessary and unsacory clashes with author8ty officals. A younger me was bit more risque in public, but I admit Ive gotten more demure in public with time.
You make a good point about being careful depending on what country you're in about being affectionate in public. What's okay in Britain isn't okay in Dubai!
@spunkycumfun Correct. And then the is unknown foreign rules. Not knowing won't save you from a very uncomfortable situation in another country. Enjoy but be aware and cautious

I'm with you on PDA #2...or what I would call public display of lust. There's a propriety line that makes me uncomfortable when crossed.
As mentioned, I'm okay with me being lusty in public but not so okay with others being lusty in public!
An interesting tribute to NVS my friend. I love PDA and I love a man who isn't afraid of it either. It can be such a turn on for me or should I say it used to be. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about PDA.
