My Head Cinema's Sex in the Night Club Tapestry:
Over the weekend I met my stepson's new girlfriend. While thinking that her head will get fucked up by his antics, I also thought there's a chance that she'll be a good influence on him. Even better as she lives in her own home 20 miles away, I'm thinking there's a chance my stepson may move out if their relationship goes well!
While having a conversation, I asked my stepson's girlfriend whether she had met my stepson's brother. She hadn't. I said that he's very nice. As soon as the words came out of my mouth, I realised I had put my foot in it. To get out of a potential mess, I remarked that my stepson and his older brother were very different, chalk and cheese as we say here. I added that his brother is very sensible and that my stepson often does and say stupid things.
My stepson, who was laughing, agreed with my observation though he said that everyone says stupid things. I agreed with him but pointed out that some people have a habit of saying more stupid things than others. Quite reasonably, my stepson asked me the most stupid thing I've said.
After a few moments to think, I answered that the most stupid thing I've said was just when I left at school and started working as a management trainee for Westland Helicopters in Yeovil, Somerset (about 200 miles from home). The helicopter manufacturer was sponsoring me to study business studies at university but I had to work for the company a year before going to university. I hated the work, and I was very unhappy so much so that I came home every weekend which I knew wasn't helping me to settle there.
My grandmother, aware of my unhappiness, asked one of her nephews, who was also working for Westland Helicopters, to pay me a visit at work. He duly did and kindly asked me over to his home for dinner. I declined his offer - in my defence, I didn't know my grandmother had asked him to look me up or even that a distant relative was working for the same company. But not only did I decline his invitation, I also accused him of being a spy for the company's human resources department (though such departments were more humanely called personnel departments back then). I was paranoid!
On returning home for the weekend, my grandmother asked me whether her nephew caught up with me. I was mortified. I apologised to her and asked her to convey my apologies to her nephew.

That incident wasn't the most stupid I've said. The most stupid thing I've said was what I said to a man at a sex club but obviously I couldn't give that answer in polite or at least vanilla company.
One of my first experiences of going to a sex club and with my then swinging partner, I was having a drink at the bar towards the end of the night. Probably a bit drunk, I started chatting to a man sitting at a neighbouring table. I started him how his evening went. He said that his evening wasn't so good and that his wife was in the main playroom in hope. Stupidly, I told him that, if he wanted, I would fuck his wife. So crass! The man calmly explained that his wife chooses who she fucks. Before leaving the club and realising I was a dickhead, I went over to the man to apologise. He graciously accepted my apology. Sex club lesson learnt.
I think I've done more stupid things than I've said stupid things. I'm normally quite considered what I say, less so about what I do in the heat of the moment.

Ooh...that is a good one. I'm starting to scroll through the memory banks. Without thinking too much, I think I've done stupid things more than I've said stupid things. Although I have said some pretty dumb things, not coming across very....favorably. But comparatively, definitely done stupid things. Like losing jobs (yes, thats plural) cos of it
I've never lost a job through doing something stupid, though in my job it was difficult to lose one's job!
I do not think I can tell you since I say stupid things all the time. I mean, just the other day, me and my mom were walking to my father's grave at the cemetery. The cemetery grounds are a bit uneven and rolling. I was helping her to walk since she's riddled with rheumatic arthritis. Noticing she's struggling, I genuinely tell her not to rush and to take it easy. "He is there and and won't move away. He's waiting for you". As the words flowed out of my mouth I already knew they didn't came out right. My mother stopped full and gave me the eye. I apologized because I honestly didn't mean it. She resumed the path walking but i could the the apologies didn't cut it.
I'm hoping your mother eventually knew what you really meant.
@spunkycumfun I hope so too and I think she does... but it's just like youve just discovered, she already knows i have a tendency to say stupid things. Stupid happens

I don’t often do or say stupid things in real life. I do goofy things on my blog though that I’m sure people think are stupid.

Saying stupid things is what makes life interesting and exciting. Everyone does it and often later they become great laughs with the other person. Hopefully none of them are truly hurtful and can be dismissed and forgotten.
I rely on people saying stupid things so I don't look stupid!

Trump would be proud of your answer even if you're not proud of Trump. The or rather his 250 celebrations are a farce. A bit like the Reflecting Pool renovation. It seems he can't organise a piss-up in a brewery!
Most words from my mouth have been forgotten, but I have a particularly memorable email that I sent. To a co-worker, I complained that another team didn't know what they were doing. She forwarded it to them, innocently, I believe. That didnt make me many friends.
I hope you were eventually forgiven. I once sent an email to a friend called Tony saying that I had just attended a boring conference only for the email to be sent to a Tony who organised the conference. I now never trust an email's auto-address function!
The truth is, I think I've done a lot more stupid things than I've said, probably because often my mouth was busy doing one of those stupid things LOL

Doing STUPID Shit is part of our Learning Process! Very Important to try to LEARN from our Mistakes as we Reflect on what we did and Correct those missteps.

I truly hope this relationship you step son has works out for the both of him. Sounds like he needs someone like her in his life. She sounds like a smart lady and I don't think it will take time for her to figure him out..
As far as the stupidest thing I have ever said, I would really have to think about that as nothing comes to mind.

My stepson's girlfriend's problem will be when he's around his muppet friends as that's when he's a dickhead.
One of the things I noticed this morning is that I’m getting more and more flashbacks to events earlier in my life. It sure why, and suspect it has to do with age (67). I wouldn’t mind, except it’s always of moments where I was a jerk, needlessly mean, or made a stupid choice.

There isn't enough room for me to list all the stupid things I've said or done in my many years, but let me just say that it was never done intentionally or with any malice and I never said or did anything stupid twice.

I don't quite follow how saying your step-son's brother was very different than your step-son - he was nice - was helping you recover from a gaffe. Seems to me that is basically saying your step-son is NOT very nice. 🤔 But hey, it it worked it worked.
I generally don't get in trouble for what I say or do. My challenge is more what I fail to say or do.
It did work, that's all that mattered. Often if you keep on talking after a gaffe, people sometimes fail to puck up on it.
